How to spot a fake Chanel bag?
Chanel bag
There are a few signs that reveal whether a Chanel bag is real or fake:
– You need to make sure it is two interlocking C’s – for many fake goods, it is actually two interlocking O’s cut to form a C.
– Quilting must be symmetrical
– Chanel bags do not come with any bag tags or wrapping paper, so if a bag has a tag attached, you can completely conclude that it is a fake.
– For new Chanel lines, the dust bag will be black with the words “Chanel” in white, while the vintage Chanel line will have a white bag with a black logo.
– Must have the CHANEL seal on the inside as well as the words “Made in France” right below or on the side.
– Note that Chanel’s authenticity guarantee card is often counterfeited, so just because a bag has this card attached does not mean it is genuine.
How to spot a fake Gucci bag?
A classic Gucci logo bag
– To determine whether a Gucci bag is fake or real, start with the small pockets.
– On the inside tag that says “GUCCI” and “Made in Italy”, there must be a design number with a series of four to six digits stamped on the leather.
– There are two types of Gucci dust bags, one is made from dark brown satin fabric with the GG logo printed on the front with the second G upside down.
– Similar to Chanel, Gucci’s authenticity tags are also often counterfeited.
How to spot a fake Hermès bag?
An Hermès Birkin bag
Hermès has gone to great lengths to crack down on counterfeits, and so spotting a fake version of a typical Hermès design is surprisingly simple:
– Hermès bags never come with paper tags
– Birkin and Kelly bags come with a set of keys and a lock engraved with Hermès on the bottom, and the numbers on the lock and key must match.
– Hermès bags also never have a metal name plate inside, a detail that fake bags often have.
– Also note that there is no such thing as “Vintage Birkin”, Birkin bags have only appeared since 1984.

How to spot a fake Louis Vuitton bag?
A Louis Vuitton clutch
Louis Vuitton is one of the most counterfeited brands in the world.
– To start, always remember that the O in Louis Vuitton must be absolutely round – many fakes have an oval O instead of a circle.
– Louis Vuitton is extremely careful in the placement of monograms (interlocking L and V letters), and often they are absolutely symmetrical from side to side.
– Some designs like the Speedy have the letters LV upside down on the back of the bag.
– Not all Louis Vuitton bags are made in France, so if your bag is made in the US, don’t automatically assume it’s fake.
– Be sure the model of Louis Vuitton bag you are considering buying actually exists.
How to spot a fake Goyard bag?
Two typical Goyard bags
– Genuine Goyard bags are made from specially resin-coated linen and lined with a blend of cotton and linen, making them feel extremely light, unlike many counterfeit bags.
– Goyard bags come with a dust bag in a plain, unmarked brown box.
– Goyard bags are only sold in small quantities at retail locations which can be found on the company’s website.
– If you want to buy a used Goyard bag, ask to see the original receipt or even the place of purchase to match the retail listing on the company’s website.
