Thuy Linh has played badminton since she was quite young, and by the age of 24, she had participated in the largest international sports arena.

I learned about badminton in the summer of 3rd grade under the guidance of my grandfather.

When she was 12 years old, Linh stopped playing badminton for 2 years because her mother was very worried about Linh’s future and hid all her rackets.

At the age of 18, Linh represented Vietnam at the Southeast Asian Games, then won her first international title at Nepal 2016. That same year, Linh entered the top 100 in the rankings.

What is Linh’s path to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics?

That path was not easy because Linh had to work hard for a while with her seniors closely following her.

At the Olympics, Linh played quite well and was only stopped by the world number one tennis player from Taipei (China) Tai Tzu Ying. How does Linh feel?

This is the first Olympics and with this achievement, Linh really feels quite satisfied.

Linh was also very satisfied and proud because for the first time she had the opportunity to stand on the court with her own idol, the world number one tennis player from Taipei Tai Tzu Ying.

Competing during the epidemic season, Linh must have many interesting stories to tell to ELLE Vietnam.

This Olympics is really special because everyone has to wear masks at all times, except when eating and going back to their rooms to rest, so they can only feel smiles and care for each other through their eyes.

As a famous athlete, Linh sees how the pressure from social networks affects athletes’ psychology?

Spending most of her time practicing (usually Linh practices twice a day, maximum 6 days a week), so actually, Linh doesn’t have much time to use social networks.
