Designer Amsale Aberra launched her eponymous wedding dress brand in 1985 and opened the first brand on Madison Avenue in 1997. It was confirmed that she passed away from cervical cancer.

Amsale Aberra attended college in Vermont but later earned her graduate degree from a prestigious fashion design school in New York.
Kleinfeld was Amsale Aberra’s first wholesaler in 1991 and the brand has since expanded to include evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and bridesmaids.

Aberra’s husband, Clarence O’Neill Brown, chief executive officer of Amsale, said:
“Amsale is not only an inspiration to the company, but also a person who has a strong impact on everyone he works with because of his grit, kindness and humility.
Mark Ingram, owner of the Mark Ingram Atelier wedding dress brand, said that designer Aberra is `the inventor of the modern wedding dress line.`
Ingram shares, `That is minimalst – minimalism is something that never existed in the wedding dress industry in the 90s. Amsale is the only one who creates classic, clean outfits.`

Amsale Aberra’s creations appeared on screen with Kate Hudson when she wore a low-waist wedding dress in the movie “Something Borrowed”, or in other productions “The Hangover” and “27 Dresses”.

Amsale Aberra, with a future vision for his company, has chosen as his successor Margo Lafontaine – who has worked at Vera Wang for almost 12 years.
The Spring 2019 collection will continue to take place as planned on Friday, April 12 because this is a plan Aberra had made in advance.
